BORPANI MIDDLE I PROJECT (22.50 MW)
The company has been awarded the project to study in details and identity scope of hydro power projects in the stretch on Borpani River between FRL to Lower Langpi HEP and TWL of Upper Langpi HEP. Three projects have been identified by the company:
The company is pursuing Borpani Middle I and II projects which are actually based on a single river at different flow points. Borpani Dam Toe Project was also pursued however finding it not so feasible the same was dropped. The projects are located in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam. Geologically the project falls under the archean basement terrain of Mikir Hills. Based on available geological feature, the site is suitable for construction of the project components. At this stage, the project area may be categorised to the extent having satisfactory geographical conditions.
The company has been only awarded the work for detailed project study for feasibility and preparation and detailed project report and the mode of implementation of the project is PPP Mode. The project is owned by APGCL.
